Wood imitations - Macassar ebony

Macassar ebony, or striped ebony, is related to the regular ebony. However the big difference is that ebony is almost even black and Macassar ebony is beautifully marked with a fine grain and chocolate brown stripes. The physical characteristics are similar: it’s a durable, rare and hard kind of wood that is mainly used for luxury turnery and carving, marquetry and musical instruments.
